Who is eligible for College Station Little League?

According to the rules set forth by the Little League organization, "only those participants whose residence or the physical location of the school where they attend classes is within the boundaries of the league [i.e., the city of College Station city limits] shall be eligible to participate. {LL Regulation IIa}

There are very few, limited instances where participants from outside our boundaries are eligible to play with CSLL. One of those exceptions is if your home league is not participating in the current season (i.e., Fall baseball), then you could be eligible to register and participate. Email registration@collegestationlittleleague.com for more information. You can determine your home league by using the Little League League Finder tool.

Can I request a certain team, to be placed with other players, or a specific coach?

Due to the size of our league, we are unable to accept requests.

How do I know what division my child will play in?

Divisions are grouped by league age based on the guidelines provided to us by Little League International. To determine your child’s League age, please consult the Age Determination page.

If your child qualifies to play up in the next division, you can request that they be evaluated to play in a different division by emailing playeragent@collegestationlittleleague.com. Final determination for division placement is at the discretion of the league Player Agent and the CSLL Board of Directors.

What equipment do I need to provide?

CSLL provides players with a cap and game jersey. Parents will be responsible for player pants, socks, and belt. The manager of the team will inform parents of the team jersey color and will recommend what color socks, belt and pants to purchase. In addition, there will be bats, helmets, and catcher's gear at the field for players to share. A baseball glove is the only equipment required. The glove should be the softest and largest the player can handle. Well broken-in leather gloves work best and will enable the child to catch and hold onto the ball better than a smaller, stiff, plastic version. Rubber baseball cleats are recommended.

Players are permitted to bring their own batting helmets and/or bat provided that they meet Little League standards, but it is not necessary to participate in our league. Additionally, bats must be Little League-approved.

What is the time commitment involved with playing with CSLL?

Generally, teams will practice twice a week for 2-3 weeks before games begin. Teams will play twice a week. Games are played on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and/or Saturdays. Beginner Tee Ball games are usually held on Saturday mornings. Depending on the time of year and number of teams, the season (games only) lasts from 1-3 months. Practice and game schedules will be posted on the website once completed.

When is registration, and what is the cost?

Registration for the Fall Baseball season opens in late July and for the Spring season in late November. Follow our Facebook page or check our website for updates.

Currently, registration fees for T-ball divisions are between $90-120, and The other divisions are  between $125-150, depending on the division, and includes the player's jersey, hat (Spring only). There is a discount if registered by the early registration deadline. Sibling discounts are also offered.

What is the refund policy?

Once players are assigned to a team, we will no longer issue refunds as our league begins to incur expenses for field use, uniforms, equipment, and other administrative and operations costs. Please email playeragent@collegestationlittleleague.com for more information.

I'm interested in managing or coaching. What do I need to do?

CSLL operates solely through the use of volunteers. Everyone from the Board of Directors to Coaches and Assistant coaches are volunteers. We are so thankful for each and every person who volunteers their time and efforts to make our league GREAT!

To sign up as a coach/manager, click on the REGISTER button. Then, click on the Volunteer button to complete the online registration. When filling out your child’s registration form, there is a place to check if you would like to manage or coach. Managers are the team’s primary leader. They set up team e-mail lists to communicate practices and games. CSLL requires all individuals that want to volunteer to pass a background check and complete online training.

How are the teams formed?

For the Tee Ball divisions, teams are formed by the Player Agent through a process specified by the CSLL Board of Directors.

For the other divisions, teams are formed via a draft which takes place after Player Evaluations. Each team is allowed 2-4 coaches (depending on division) and their children on a team, then the remaining players are drafted in snake format.

Due to the size of our league, requests for specific teams, players or coaches are unable to be honored. Once teams are formed, coaches will contact and inform the team of practice schedules and other essential information.

Does my child need to attend Player Evaluations?

Players in every division must attend Player Evaluations in order to be eligible for All-Stars, expect for T-Ball division. The purpose of the evaluations is to promote a competitive balance between teams. Check the Facebook page or the website for the Player Evaluation dates for each season. We will also try to send out an email with these dates.

When will I know what team my child is on?

After the teams are formed, your coach will send out an email with all the team information. The coach will be your primary contact person throughout the season. He/She will let you know what color pants, belt and socks you need as well as scheduling information for practices and games.

CSLL also utilizes TeamSideline for all our communications. Information about teams can be found through this application. We encourage you to download the TeamSideline app and sign up for TeamSideline communications.

What are the rules for each division?

College Station Little League follows the rules set forth by the Official Little League organization through their current handbook. We have also established local rules to govern our league. The current  CSLL Ground Rules Manual can be viewed on our website. You can also check out the official Little League website at: https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/.

Where do I find out about field conditions?

The City of College Station updates their field conditions after 4 pm daily. In the event of weather, we will make a determination about games after we speak with the City of College Station. There is a link on our homepage for Field Conditions. We will update via the Facebook page and through TeamSideline communications. You should also hear from your coach.

In the event a game is cancelled, we will attempt to make it up. However, there are a lot of factors that go in to whether games can be made up and we cannot always get them rescheduled. Your coach and TeamSideline will be the primary points of contact for this information.
